Yvaya Farm: fruit snacks by and for people of conviction

Yvaya Farm was founded in 2017 by Stanford graduate and activist Yvette Tetteh and agribusiness expert Emmanuel Ampadu. The company is based in Accra, Ghana.

The goal: to create local added value and thus additional income for local farmers by processing local fruits (bananas, pineapples, papaya). And of course to provide customers with delicious, natural snacks.

Mango Farmer Ghana

We visited Yvaya Farm in Accra in September 2023. Emmanuel showed us the production down to the smallest detail. At full capacity, more than 20 employees work there, most of whom come from the surrounding area. The company has been certified according to the international HACCP standard since March 2023. And that's what you see in the factory: shiny surfaces, precisely described processes and documented quality standards.

Yvaya is on a growth path: you can find the delicious mangoes, pineapples and bananas in all of Ghana's major supermarket chains. Also on the in-flight menus of major airlines such as Emirates and United. It's only logical that we enrich our range with Yvaya products.

We meet Yvette later in Germany. In addition to her job as CEO, she is doing her master's degree in African Studies. And she is committed to environmental protection: In order to draw attention to the pollution of the waters by garbage exported from Europe and the USA, she was the first person to swim 450 kilometers of the Volta River, causing a lot of media coverage.
